CHHS Tennis Players Posing with Regional medals

On April 17-18, Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School boys and girls tennis teams competed at the UIL 5A Region I championship, where GCISD tennis programs had five student-athletes in total qualify for the state championship.

CHHS achieved two milestones at the regional competition: seniors Finnegan Dooley and Ali Halai finished in second place, becoming the first boys doubles team to qualify for state in school history, and Adam Sparks finished in third place, becoming only the second individual player to qualify for state in school history.

Our coaching staff is super proud of the hard work and dedication from our players. It's been a pleasure to coach them this year, they are all great people, great academics and great athletes. I can't wait to see how they do at state,” Said CHHS Head Tennis Coach Cody Dollar.

GHS senior Noah Malin and junior Sara Gyorgy added another post-season title to their collection as they won the mixed doubles tournament at regionals. This is Malin’s second and Gyorgy’s third state championship appearance in their high school athletic career.

These five tennis players will now head to the UIL 5A State Championship, which will be held in San Antonio at North East ISD and Northside ISD, on May 7-8.
