GCISD Career and Technical Education floral design students and their teacher brightened the day at Solstice Senior Living in Grapevine on Friday. They delivered eight remaining floral arrangements after the school year ended. The idea was suggested by one of the students. What a kind gesture!

GCISD will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. Starting Tuesday, May 26, the GCISD Administration Offices will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Monday through Thursday, closed Fridays. Summer hours continue through July.

GCISD is offering free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and younger this summer through the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program.

GCISD’s Career and Technical Education hosted its third annual Health Science Pinning Ceremony yesterday to recognize the 81 students who have earned certifications as Patient Care Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians, Medical Assistants, Emergency Medical Technicians and Electrocardiogram Technicians. Congratulations!
Many members of the Class of 2026 returned to their elementary and middle schools today to walk the halls one last time amid celebratory cheers! Congratulations again to this year’s graduates.
Except for Collegiate Academy and iUniversity Prep, Thursday, May 21, is the last day of school and an early release day for all GCISD campuses.

Congratulations to Piyush Mallick for winning 1st Place in 5A UIL Mathematics with a score of 354 which ties the State record. He also won the State Championship for Number Sense.

Two GCISD Career and Technical Education partnerships have received awards! The Career and Technical Educators of North Texas (CTENT) honored GCISD CTE and TriVAN Roofing with the Business-Education Partnership Award. Additionally, Tarleton Today, the dual enrollment program that Tarleton State University offers and that will expand to GCISD CTE in 2026-2027, was named the CTENT’s Postsecondary Partner of the Year.

Today is Speech Language Pathologist Day! Our amazing speech language pathologists work with students from age three until graduation in building their fluency, articulation and social skills. We are so grateful to have these talented professionals!

This week, the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation surprised 18 GCISD educators with spring STAR Teaching Grants totaling nearly $35,000! These grants fund projects that benefit students by enhancing existing programs or funding innovative class projects.


Tune in tomorrow to Fox 4’s Good Day show at approximately 10:30 a.m. to see the anchors try out the pizzas that were concepts by GCISD’s Career and Technical Education students in Advanced Culinary. A reminder that the last day the pizzas will be on the Wise Guys Pizzeria menu is Friday, May 15. The winning pizza, based on sales and customer feedback, will remain for a limited time.
Grapevine High School’s Mustang Robotics dominated the Buc Days FIRST Tech Challenge held May 9 in Corpus Christi. Their flawless 7-0 match record secured the tournament championship and a $1,250 prize! FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.

Yesterday, we honored GCISD’s top-ranking seniors alongside the teachers who inspired them most. Congratulations to them and their families for years of hard work, dedication and commitment to success!

Today was the awards luncheon for our Special Olympics athletes! The event is annually hosted by the Grapevine Rotary to celebrate our special athletes for participating in events throughout the year. What a great day!
