PSAT Parent Letter 2019

Dear GHS Families,

Grapevine High School will give the PSAT on Wednesday, October 16th in the morning.  All 9th, 10th,  and 11th-grade students will report to school at the regular time.  For those taking the test, please be sure to get plenty of sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and be on time!  Students must bring their own calculators. Attached is a list of acceptable calculators:  PSAT Acceptable Calculator List .jpg   Remember the National Merit Scholarship Program uses the PSAT results for junior students as the qualifying score for National Merit honors.

In addition, senior students that signed up for the SAT School Day test will also report to school at regular time.

For those not taking the PSAT or SAT School Day, we will have a late start (12:45 pm). Students needing to ride the bus please be sure to let your bus driver know in advance if you will need to ride a late bus on PSAT day.  Because the majority of seniors do not ride the bus, it is imperative that you communicate with transportation.

If you have any questions regarding the PSAT, please contact your student’s counselor.

In the afternoon, GHS will be on a C day schedule. Students will report to an assigned classroom and will rotate through a series of stations where they will receive pertinent information related to Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs), digital literacy, and more. These room assignments will be posted in the 200 hall across from Mr. Denning’s office in advance of C day. Please note that lunches will be delayed as a result of morning testing, so it might be a good idea to pack a snack. If you have any questions regarding C day, please email michael.crow@gcisd.net

Thank you and best of luck to all of our students who will be testing.
