
The Grapevine High School World Scholar's Cup team competed on May 20th at the North American round of the competition in Houston, Texas. This team competed among almost 50 other teams in the categories of Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar's Bowl and the Scholar's Challenge. The competition covers a wide variety of information both historical information, current events, and global connections. These students were incredibly successful and took home an extensive amount of awards and accolades. They placed 2nd as a team, 1st place in Scholar's Bowl, 3rd place in the Challenge, and were awarded 57 individual medals.
Because of their success, two of the three teams qualified at the World Scholar's Cup to go on to the Global competition this summer. The two teams can choose from three locations to compete: Athens, Cape Town, or Hanoi.
Out of almost 50 teams, Grapevine High School came in 2nd overall. In the history of this competition, this is the largest North American round to take place. This team is comprised of Sanika Bhave, Jacqueline Padron, Hayat Yasin, Emily Branson, Lauren Lichtenfeld, Andye Tosh, Neve Enloe, and Aneesha Diggikar. Congratulations GHS World Scholars!!!
