
Benefits of Speech and Debate

The National Speech and Debate Association, (formerly the National Forensic League) is the largest interscholastic speech and debate organization serving middle school, high school, and collegiate students in the United States. The Association provides competitive speech and debate activities, resources, training, scholarship opportunities, and advanced recognition to over 130,000 students and coaches every year.
The National Speech & Debate Association is the oldest and largest high school speech and debate honor society in the world.
The Grapevine High School became a charter member in 1989. GHS has co-hosted the 2006 National Tournament with CHHS. Has had students at 23 National Tournaments since 1990, 2 National Champions as well as many elimination rounds and a Hall of Fame Coach (Jane Boyd).
To become a member of this honor society - be a member of the Grapevine HS Debate or Oral Interpretation team. Compete and accumulate enough points in competition and or service.
